A gas cooktop uses hazardous gas, so safe and prompt transport affects its safety in later use.
Shipping a gas cooktop at 25 kg or less
A gas cooktop at 25 kg or less may be shipped by EMS, air or surface mail (Beta), provided all of the following conditions are met:
- The parcel must weigh 25 kg or less when received at the warehouse.
- The outgoing parcel's length plus girth must be no more than 3 m.
- It must be a new, unused item, and the incoming parcel must include the purchase details, receipt or invoice.
- It cannot be consolidated with other goods and must be shipped separately.
- Optional services must include packing straps, an additional outer carton, moisture-protection film and super reinforcement, totalling JPY 2,900.
- This is special handling; contact JChere with the forwarding order number before transport.
Weight and order handling
- The 25 kg limit is the parcel weight at warehouse receipt (shipping weight), not the item-only weight.
- A parcel over 25 kg is automatically changed to Super Big Express.
- If the reinforcement services above were not selected, the system adds them automatically. The carrier cannot accept a parcel without this reinforcement.
- This shipping method is a Beta test and its service details may change. Contact JChere with questions. (Started 23 December 2019.)
Shipping a gas cooktop over 25 kg
A gas cooktop over 25 kg may be shipped by Super Big Express with packing straps, an additional outer carton, moisture-protection film and super reinforcement totalling JPY 2,900. It cannot be consolidated with other goods and is limited to new, unused items.
Confirm the gas type
Gas types are divided as follows:
- City gas (都市ガス): the primary material is natural gas and the main component is methane.
- Propane gas (プロパンガス (LP)): liquefied petroleum gas mainly composed of propane and butane.
- This shipping method also applies to other products that use gas.
Gas cooktop reinforcement packing method
A gas cooktop uses hazardous gas, so safe and prompt transport affects its safety in later use. The manufacturer's factory packaging is the most tightly sealed and suitable for transport. Do not dismantle or split it into separate parcels for international transport, as doing so may create hazards in later use. To reduce transit risk, surface mail is not recommended for heavier, higher-value items; a method with a shorter transit time is recommended.
