Before ordering, check whether the listing says shipping included, free shipping, shipping charged separately, or freight collect. Consolidation, packing and international delivery after warehouse arrival are quoted separately by JChere.

A forwarded purchase can include delivery from the store to the Japanese warehouse, warehouse handling and optional services, international delivery, and destination-country taxes or carrier charges. Each stage has a different payer and calculation method.

• Japan domestic shipping: set by the store, seller, platform or domestic carrier.
• Warehouse services: forwarding, consolidation, splitting, packing and insurance may apply.
• International shipping: based on destination, method, actual weight or volumetric weight.

Published Japanese parcel rates commonly use origin, destination, package dimensions, weight and service type. Stores can instead apply contract rates, flat rates, regional rates or a free-shipping threshold, so item weight alone is not enough to predict the charge.

• One store may split stock across warehouses and charge or display shipping separately.
• Third-party marketplace sellers may set their own delivery terms.
• Oversize, refrigerated or remote-area delivery can have additional conditions.

Shipping included or free shipping normally covers the domestic leg. Shipping charged separately is added at checkout. Freight collect means the Japanese recipient pays the carrier when the parcel arrives. Cash on delivery, also called COD or daibiki, is a payment method for the item price and related charges, not the same as freight collect.

• Ask before continuing if a seller changes the shipment to freight collect.
• Address-change rules differ for anonymous marketplace delivery and ordinary carrier services.

Amazon Japan may split an order by seller, fulfillment location or release date. Mercari domestic delivery depends on the listing's shipping payer and selected delivery method. Anonymous domestic delivery does not include overseas forwarding and does not make international shipping free.

• Check who pays shipping and which delivery method is selected.
• Keep the JChere personal member number in the warehouse address.
• Save each tracking number when an order is split.

• Do not buy unnecessary items only to reach a free-shipping threshold.
• Compare the extra purchase amount with the shipping actually saved.
• Consolidation can reduce repeated minimum charges but may increase volumetric weight.
