Mercari anonymous methods hide the buyer’s and seller’s names and addresses from each other and normally from the printed label. The delivery system still needs a valid destination in the buyer account, so register the address and check the member number before purchasing.

• Anonymous means hidden from the other party, not that no destination exists.
• Updating the address before purchase is safer than correcting it after the transaction starts.
• Do not leave another person’s member number or an old warehouse address in the account.

Mercari states that for some Mercari shipping methods, the buyer can change the destination from the transaction screen before the seller dispatches the item. After the shipping notice, it generally cannot be changed from that screen. Other procedures may apply to different services, Mercari Shops or large-item delivery.

• Check the destination in the transaction immediately after purchase.
• Do not wait until dispatch to correct a missing member number.
• After dispatch, follow the current transaction-screen and carrier instructions and preserve the correspondence.

If a seller changes from a Mercari method to another service after the transaction begins, the seller may not automatically receive the address that was hidden and may ask for it in the transaction message. Verify the transaction and Mercari guidance before providing the correct JChere address or cancelling.

• Communicate only inside the official Mercari transaction, not through an unknown external channel.
• When providing an address, keep the member number, required name format and phone number complete.
• If you do not agree to disclose the address or cannot complete the transaction safely, consider cancellation under the platform rules.

Many Mercari listings are used goods from individual sellers. Warehouse check-in is not an authentication, functional test or confirmation that every accessory matches the description. Review photos, defects, accessories and seller ratings before purchase, then use available warehouse information to confirm the parcel after arrival.

• Save the listing and seller description in case the page later changes.
• For electronics, check the battery, model, voltage and included accessories.
• Plan insurance and protective packing for valuable, fragile or collectible items.

The Mercari listing identifies who pays delivery and the selected method. Seller-paid anonymous delivery normally covers domestic Japan only. Buyer-paid or freight-collect listings can create a charge when the warehouse receives the parcel. Warehouse services and international forwarding remain separate.
