How to Enter Your Japanese Forwarding Warehouse Address

Learn how to enter the JChere warehouse postal code, prefecture, city, street, recipient name, phone and personal member number at Japanese checkout.

Japanese sites label and split address fields differently, but the required information is the same. The safest method is to open your own JChere address and copy it field by field. The member number helps the warehouse identify your parcel; omission can require manual investigation.

Mapping Japanese address fields

A store may use one, two or three address lines. Follow the order shown in your account: postal code into the postal field, prefecture into the prefecture field, city and street number into their corresponding lines, and building or room information into the later line.

  • Postal code: copy the displayed Japanese code and follow the store rule for the hyphen.
  • Prefecture and city: do not abbreviate, translate or reverse their order.
  • Street and building: preserve numbers, hyphens, letters and member-identification information.

Name, phone and personal member number

Use the recipient format and phone shown under My Japanese Address. Some stores split family and given name or request katakana; follow the JChere instruction and an accepted store format. The personal member number must remain in the designated field and cannot be replaced with only your English name.

  • Check the confirmation page for automatically removed spaces, letters, digits or member number.
  • If a field is too short, consult the current JChere address instruction rather than cutting the final identifier.
  • Do not use another member's address or share one identifier with unrelated accounts.

Checks before and after ordering

Before submitting, compare the store confirmation with your account address character by character. After payment, save the order, seller, item, value, estimated dispatch and tracking. A domestic tracking delivery scan does not mean warehouse registration is already complete.

  • One order can split into several parcels by seller, warehouse or release date.
  • A store dispatch email is not a JChere receiving confirmation.
  • Pre-orders, untracked mail and mismatched names are harder to match quickly.

What to do after an address mistake

Before dispatch, try to edit the order or contact the store. After dispatch, rerouting depends on the seller and Japan carrier and cannot be guaranteed by JChere. If tracking shows delivered but the parcel remains unregistered for an extended period, prepare the order and tracking details for support.

  • For a completely wrong address, verify the original order instead of placing a duplicate to hide the issue.
  • For a missing member number, provide store, order, tracking, recipient name and item details.
  • Recovery depends on the actual delivery location and information available to identify the parcel.

Can I omit the member number?
No. It is important for assigning a parcel to your account. Omission raises the risk of delay, investigation or inability to identify it.
What if Amazon or Rakuten splits the address into several lines?

Why is a delivered parcel not yet in my account?
After delivery, the warehouse must receive, identify and register it. Peak periods, missing member numbers, mismatched names and untracked small mail can take longer.
