Parcel Delivered but Not Checked In: Identification and Storage Deadlines

What to check when a Japan parcel is marked delivered but not in your forwarding account: tracking, warehouse address, member ID, split shipments, 30-day free storage and the 180-day limit.

Quick answer

“Delivered” in domestic tracking confirms carrier delivery, not completion of member identification and warehouse check-in. Verify the destination address, recipient name, member ID, tracking number and the seller’s actual parcel count. If the parcel remains missing after the normal processing window, send JChere the store, order, item, tracking, delivery record and member ID. Regular members receive 30 days of free storage after check-in, with a maximum holding period of 180 days.

Key takeaway

Start here

Pre-orders, multiple sellers, split shipments, truncated address fields and missing member IDs can make the order count, tracking count and warehouse parcel count differ. Reconcile each domestic tracking number instead of relying only on the store order number.

1. Separate seller dispatch, carrier delivery and warehouse check-in

“Shipped” at the store, “delivered” in domestic tracking and “checked in” in the JChere account are different events. After arrival, unloading, member identification, exterior-data checks and registration still need to occur, so the statuses do not always update together.

  • Use the domestic tracking number to confirm the actual delivery date and facility.
  • One order can create several tracking numbers, while several items can also arrive in one carton.
  • Weekends, holidays, concentrated arrivals or incomplete addresses can extend identification time.

2. The member ID is essential for parcel identification

Enter the Japanese warehouse address exactly as shown in the account. Store systems can shorten names, combine address fields or remove symbols, so review the final delivery information after checkout and confirm that the member ID remains visible.

  • Do not use another person’s member ID, an old warehouse address or a self-edited format.
  • When a field is too short, follow the current JChere address instructions for splitting the address.
  • If an error is found before dispatch, prioritize correcting or cancelling the store order.

3. Prepare complete evidence for a missing check-in inquiry

An order number alone may not identify a parcel among many arrivals. Provide logistics, store and product records that can be cross-checked.

  • Domestic carrier, tracking number, delivery date and tracking screenshot.
  • Shopping site, seller, order number, item name, quantity and value.
  • The full recipient name, warehouse address and member ID entered at checkout.
  • For untracked mail, the dispatch notice, expected delivery range and outer-package description.

4. Manage storage from the actual check-in date

Storage is calculated for each inbound parcel, not per shopping order or per final consolidated box. Regular members receive 30 free days after check-in, then charges apply by parcel type, with a 180-day maximum. Payment and dispatch requirements also apply after packing.

  • With pre-orders and split shipments, the earliest parcel starts using storage first.
  • Do not overlook the oldest parcel deadline while waiting months for another item.
  • Storage already provided is not automatically removed by later Premium enrollment or parcel disposal.
Important: A carrier delivery record alone does not prove completed member identification or confirm that the contents match the order. Storage deadlines, fees and handling are based on the actual check-in record and current published rules.

Frequently asked questions

Tracking says delivered, so why is the parcel not in my account?
The warehouse still needs unloading, member identification and registration. Check the address, member ID, tracking and split shipping, then submit complete records if it remains missing after normal processing.
Will a parcel be lost if I omitted my member ID?
Not necessarily, but omission increases the risk of delayed or failed automatic identification. Send the tracking, order, item, full recipient details and member ID as soon as possible.
Does storage start on the seller dispatch date?
No. It is based on the date the parcel is actually checked into the JChere system. Review the account and storage page for the applicable deadline and fee.
What if one order is split into several parcels?
Reconcile every tracking number separately. Later parcels may be unshipped, use another carrier or be untracked, so the order number alone does not determine parcel count.
