Japan Package Forwarding to Thailand
Plan package forwarding from Japan to Thailand: address format, total timing and cost, import tax, customs information, restricted goods and delivery preparation.
Quick answer
Eligible parcels can be forwarded from Japan to Thailand. Enter the province, district, street, postcode and mobile number completely in English and declare every item accurately. From January 1, 2026, Thailand ended the former import-duty exemption for low-value goods up to THB 1,500. Ordinary imports should now budget for import duty, VAT and possible carrier clearance charges; the final amount depends on classification, customs value and clearance method.

Thai addresses contain several administrative levels, and a mobile number is important for last-mile delivery and document requests. Cosmetics, food, supplements, medicine, wireless devices and plant products can involve Customs, FDA or other authorities.
Enter a verifiable delivery address
Enter house number, road, subdistrict/district, province and five-digit postcode as used locally. Bangkok and other provinces use different administrative labels; do not omit them, and provide a mobile that can receive local carrier calls.
- Use a name matching the recipient identification or carrier record.
- Provide a reachable phone number and active email.
- Do not omit apartment, building, district, province or other required address levels.
Compare total cost and total elapsed time
The total from Japan to Thailand can include domestic Japan delivery, JChere handling and optional services, international freight, and destination tax or carrier charges. Route transit time normally starts after JChere dispatch; total time also includes store shipment, receiving, consolidation, payment, export, customs and last-mile delivery.
- Use the current calculator with the destination, weight and packed dimensions.
- Compare actual and volumetric weight for large light cartons.
- Allow buffer for receiving, inspection and last-mile delivery when a date matters.
Thailand low-value import tax rule from 2026
Thai Customs Notification No. 219/2568 reduced the customs value eligible for the relevant import-duty exemption to no more than THB 1 and took effect on January 1, 2026. The former THB 1,500 threshold should therefore not be used as a duty-free assumption for ordinary online-shopping or forwarding parcels.
- Ordinary goods above THB 1 can incur import duty and may also incur VAT.
- Assessment still depends on HS classification, customs value, origin and any applicable preference.
- Postal and express channels can use different declaration, advancement, clearance and fee procedures.
Restricted goods and customs data
Food, dietary supplements, medicine, cosmetics, plants or seeds, animal goods, wireless devices and e-cigarettes can be prohibited, restricted or permit-controlled. Check the competent Thai authority and current carrier rules.
- Food, medicine, cosmetics, alcohol, plants, animal products and wireless devices can require permits or extra review.
- For lithium batteries, confirm type, capacity, quantity, condition and packing.
- Declare each real product instead of using only “goods,” “sample” or “gift.”
