Shipping a Nintendo Switch from Japan
Before buying a Nintendo Switch, Lite, OLED or bundle, check console, Joy-Con and accessory battery count, Wh, installation, split packing and route.
Start here
One Switch listing can mean console only, console plus two Joy-Con, an integrated Lite, an OLED bundle or a package with extra controllers. Japan Post's current overview requires batteries to be installed in equipment and limits cells or batteries in one international mail item, so list every component first.
Check JChere's current restrictions and special routes first
Do not count only one bundle
A standard set normally has a battery in the console and in each Joy-Con, while Lite models have a different integrated design. A bonus controller, Poké Ball accessory, wireless headset or charging accessory may contain another battery.
- List console, left Joy-Con, right Joy-Con and every wireless accessory.
- Keep installed batteries separate from a spare battery or power bank decision.
- If shipping only a dock, adapter, cable or game card, state that it has no lithium battery.
Postal quantity conditions and JChere split experience
Japan Post's current overview permits up to four cells or two assembled batteries in a qualifying item and requires installation in equipment. A carrier may count Joy-Con components differently and country eligibility varies. JChere's older page used a special route at three or more batteries or split postal parcels with a separate order.
- Do not assume a console and two controllers form one battery device.
- After splitting, each carton must still meet count, installation, short-circuit and destination rules.
- Whether a special route avoids splitting and its charge follows the current order review.
Power off, prevent activation and protect value
Fully power off the console and controllers, prevent button activation and protect the screen, sticks and rails from load. Factory inserts help, while a used or reconfigured bundle may need extra shock, moisture and outer-carton protection.
- Do not ship a damaged, swollen, leaking, overheating or recalled battery.
- Keep outer-carton pressure off the screen, Joy-Con sticks and slots.
- Declare console and controller counts and transaction value and keep serial and condition images.
Version, power, account and warranty
Transport does not ensure every digital service, warranty or power accessory works at destination. Check language, regional account, download codes, plug, adapter input range and Japan-only warranty.
- Do not infer DLC, membership and payment compatibility solely from region-free hardware.
- Read the adapter input plate, not only its USB-C connector.
- For a used unit, check account removal, parental controls and serial status.
